Top Picks For the Book of the Month
Are you searching for the best books to spend your weekend with? Here are a few picks to get you through the month, and I must mention that I get my inspiration from my various book subscription services which are a great way to receive a great book box every month without having to go through the process of choosing. I leave it to the experts!
Anyways here are some of the best books for me at the moment:
One Last Stop
This book will take you on a roller coaster ride with the cynical twenty-three-year-old August, who moves to New York city believing that cinematic and magical love stories do not work in real life until love strikes her in the most unexpected of places. This is the best book I got from my subscription box for this week.
The Maidens
This is the book of the month by Alex Michaelides, the global best-selling author of The Silent Patient. The Maidens is a spellbinding literary thriller that weaves together Greek Mythology, psychology and murder. Marina Andros is a group therapist who is struggling through her private grief of losing her husband. But for her niece, it is the classic case of her best friend’s murder. This mystery thriller is a must-read this weekend. So it’s the kind of book that I would expect to see in my subscription book or book box of the month!
Prison Break: The Extraordinary Life and Crimes of New Zealand’s Infamous Escapee
Here comes an extraordinary true story behind New Zealand’s most infamous career criminal and prolific escapee. Arthur Taylor is New Zealand’s most influential, colourful and best-known career criminal. He has spent more than 38 years of his life behind bars until his final parole in 2019. This fantastic story is a must-have in your book box. And an excellent read for the weekend. So indulge in his life story and thrilling ride of life in prison.
The Book of Accidents
This is a literary masterpiece in the horror genre from the New York Times bestselling author Chuck Wendig. It is the story of a family that returns to their hometown only to encounter the dark past that still haunts them. This is a gem of a book and a must-have, so hopefully will come in your subscription box.
Purpose
Finally, a fantastic non-fiction self-help book that is a guide to unleashing your purpose in life and living the most magical life possible. Lisa Messenger, the author, knows precisely how a regular job feels and hers her insight into creating the most beautiful life you desire. This book is a must-have in your book box.
